Well, what a whirlwind the first 10 days have been! I am thrilled with the number of people that have been in touch; I have met some really lovely clients (and their owners have been lovely too!).
Our Lula seems to be taking it all in her stride, welcoming each new pal into her home with a lot of tail wagging and nose to nose (and nose to rear end….) snuffling, and seems to be really enjoying having some new playmates, and in Layla’s case, snuggle mate.
The lovely Layla is a sweet Border Collie / Husky cross and is so elegant and wolf-like, she makes our Lula look quite short and dumpy in comparison! We will be having the pleasure of Layla’s company throughout the summer on many weekends as her mum and dad ply their trade at various food festivals as they own Tap Garden who sell wonderful natural handmade sparkling drinks (it’s so interesting meeting so many different people!).
We have also got to know the handsome Louie who actually lives in the house backing on to ours, so he and Lula have been “fence buddies” for quite a while. I think she was quite pleased to put a face to the scent when she got to know him better earlier this week.. He came round for a little trial visit and he wagged his way around the house, exploring every nook and cranny, eventually working out that our garden fence was the same one that he peers through from his own garden usually – you could see the thought dawning on him, it was quite comical. Needless to say, he made himself very much at home and enjoyed a good tummy tickle off John.
I have two more potential clients coming to visit tomorrow, so need to get on with things, but would just like to say how genuinely delighted I am by the reaction of my clients since I started this business, who have all been so complimentary. I cannot believe I am lucky enough to look after their lovely pets and call it a job – the best job in the world.
