“I contacted Wendy at short notice prior to our 3 week holiday at the beginning of November. Wendy took time to discuss our precise requirements and she also discussed our house security to ensure it had the appearance of being occupied when we were away.
We went away without any worries and we also received regular texts/video messages keeping us updated with our furry friends antics! Wendy even came to our house on bonfire night and sat with the cats to comfort them while a local firework display was taking place.

“Wendy looked after my incredibly needy house cat Murphy for a week while I was away. I didn’t want to send her anywhere as she’s quite an anxious cat and used to her own home so I opted to have Wendy come visit her on a daily basis.
Before I went away Wendy came round for an initial visit to meet myself and Murphy, show me all her necessary documentation and discuss Murphy’s needs. Ordinarily I work from home, so Murphy is used to someone being around the majority of the time, so my main concern wasn’t the feeding and litter cleaning, it was the fact she would be alone for long periods in my absence.
Wendy not only made sure to feed her and clean her litter boxes on her daily visits, but spent some time with her each day and sent me plenty of update photos so I knew Murphy was happy.
Wendy also offered to pick up post/water plants/open close curtains if required which I didn’t need personally, but I found a really helpful touch.
Communication was great and I came home to a contented cat that didn’t want to kill me in my sleep (usually the case if I go anywhere). I will definitely be calling upon Wendy’s services the next time I go away. Thanks again”

The booking process was simple and very easy to follow and the fees are similar to others we have used. What makes Wendy (and husband John) stand head and shoulders above the rest, though, is their genuine love of dogs and their caring and loving nature in general. Whilst Sacha, our (nearly) 15 year old Golden Retriever was in their care, they sent us regular updates on how she was doing and what she was up to. Given Sacha’s age, these updates were very reassuring to us. Would we use Wendy’s again? Without any doubt whatsoever. Would we recommend Wendy’s to our friends? Again, without any doubt whatsoever. I was really impressed when she came round for our initial meeting taking detailed notes of the requirements and needs of our girls (3 Pekin Bantam Chickens), she also showed all relevant documentation such as enhanced disclosure and insurance. I felt confident leaving the girls in her care. Whilst we were away Wendy sent daily updates and a lovely video of the girls out roaming in the garden, which our little boys loved seeing. We recently went on holidays and wanted our Deerhound pup to stay in his own home whilst we were away…and came across Wendy and John from Pets Homes and Gardens who offered to help!
What a great service by two caring and competent professionals. Whilst they take a very professional and structured approach to the job, they also showed care and passion beyond expectations. While we were away they frequently sent updates and pics of Merlin, and upon our return we found Merlin in great condition, having been loved and cared for like their own! Suffice to say we returned to a clean and tidy home, a clean and happy dog, and enjoyed being updated regarding Merlin’s puppy antics!!

“I was desperate to find somewhere where I felt my dog would be comfortable when we had to leave him behind as we were going away for a few days and could not take him with us. This was a massive worry for me since he had never been left with someone who was not a family member overnight before.
I spoke to Wendy on the phone and she sounded so calm and capable. She asked me to bring my dog along for a trial and I left him with her for a couple of hours. I felt happier having met Wendy and her husband when I dropped my dog off for the visit and it was clear Wendy was well organised and in control and she wanted to know all about my dog and his feeding routine. She was very thorough. On my return it was clear my dog had been well cared for and loved, and it was great to receive regular updates and photos during the time we were away.

“A truly excellent service – Wendy’s love of animals is clear from the moment you first enquire about using her pet sitting service. After meeting Wendy we had no hesitation to have her looking after our cat Millie.
Wendy called to our house twice a day for a total of ten days, and not only fed Millie but stayed with her for up to 1/2 hour on each visit to give her some company – our neighbours even commented on the length of each stay! We also got regular updates by text and the odd photo of Millie enjoying herself playing.
Wendy also managed the post, curtains etc. while we were away – and there was even a pint of milk for us on our return for that needed cuppa. Not just a pet sitting service – so much more – excellent!
Can’t recommend Wendy’s enough – we will definitely be using the service again.”

“I was desperate to find someone to look after my house rabbits and cockatiels and then I came across Wendy. She came to meet them at my home and I knew straight away she was the right person to do it.
She looked after them a few weeks ago and did an amazing job. She was very professional and took notes of all of the little details of how I wanted my pets to be looked after.
